On 2 November, a special matinee featuring works by Nabo took place in a private setting. On display were newly created sculptures from the series ‘Befreiung’, which were recently produced at the Harzkristall glassworks.
The aim was to showcase the art in the context of a lived-in space – where the pictures and sculptures ultimately find their home and can unfold their full effect. A distinctive feature of many of Nabo’s works is that they can be integrated into window spaces. The glass pictures can be permanently installed by embedding them in window frames or hung in front of them using special mountings. In both cases, the play of daylight constantly creates new perspectives.
Alongside the presentation of the sculptures and glass pictures, Christine Rother held a conversation with Nabo about his working methods, his fascination with glass as a material, and the background to the ‘Befreiung’ series.
The matinee was reserved exclusively for invited guests and turned into an inspiring day full of stimulating conversations and lovely encounters.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this special day possible.
