After intensive work, Nabo’s new glass painting “Black Fish” is now complete. We have repeatedly reported on the creation process over the past few months – now we can present the finished work.
In “Black Fish”, Nabo Gass explores themes that have preoccupied him ever since: the fragility of life, its constant movement and the fine line between body and light. For Nabo, this work is a silent meditation on life and its vulnerability, but also on the inexhaustible power inherent in all existence. The permeability of the glass blurs the boundaries: between man and nature, between becoming and passing away. Three koi – powerful symbols of vitality and endurance – circle a fragile human figure that almost seems to dissolve into the flow of light.
Accompanying this work, a poem was created in a joint exchange that captures the mood of the picture in a special way (poem from a joint reflection – anonymous if desired):
In the flow of the fragile
A body of light,
almost enraptured,
listens to the soft whisper of gravity.
Three messengers of life – heavy, shimmering, unwavering –
circle the delicate border
between being and disappearing.
In the silent current of time
nothing remains fixed,
only the movement itself.
And in the midst of all the dissolution
a promise glows:
That even in fading
Life is born anew.
This work can now be seen in the Uferatelier and is looking forward to visitors and a discussion of these sensitive topics.
